Here's the plan:
INTERNATIONAL DAY 2020 is around the corner! Festivities will be Sabbath, September 19 beginning with our VWE, which will include a virtual version of our legendary Parade of Nations and dynamic music from Higher Calling and the CPC Band! The celebration continues at 2pm with a Car Decorating Challenge and Drive-Through Meet & Greet the Warfield family at CPC, which will also be live-streamed, hosted by our own Jermaine Assent. Immediately following these festivities, there will be a socially distanced, “in-car” celebration and fellowship time at the Del Ray Baptist Church parking lot.
Virtual Worship Experience
Virtual Worship on International Day will be as special as ever, this time including a virtual Parade of Nations! If you haven't already, submit a video of you and/or your family representing your country of origin at cpcsda.org/internationalday
Dynamic Music
Higher Calling and the CPC band will lend even more to the spirt of international day with a few music selections that will feed your soul! You love to see it!
Taste of Nations
If able to do so, please prepare and photograph a mouth watering display of ethnic culinary dishes. Upload your photos to cpcsda.org/internationalday
Car Decorating Challenge
We are inviting each of you to participate in a creative challenge to decorate your cars with flags and other displays to proudly reflect your country of origin. Staging area will be at the Del Ray Baptist Church parking lot (2405 Russell Rd) starting at 1pm
Meet & Greet the Warfield
This will be a well orchestrated event with cars lined up to drive under the awning at the main entrance of the church where the Warfield family will, with safe distancing, be waiting to meet and greet you.
Celebration and Fellowship
Traffic will be directed to the Del Rey Baptist Church parking lot at: 2405 Russell Rd, Alexandria, VA 22301, 0.6 mile from CPC, for the “in-car” celebration and fellowship time. *Note: This portion will not be live streamed.
